Biography

Education & Training

My parents emigrated from Cuba to Miami when I was four years old. I grew up in South Florida, and except for my post-graduate years studying medicine at The University of  Kansas, I have lived here all my life. My desire to become a doctor began as a junior at Coral Gables High School. Becoming a physician has been long and challenging, but well worth it and nothing less than a blessing from God. Today, I am a Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Clinical Cardiology. I am a Fellow of The American College of Cardiology (FACC) and The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Miami with a degree in Biology. I then continued my education at The University of Kansas School of Medicine. While I cherish my years living in Kansas, returning to my roots here in South Florida was important to me. I completed my internship and residency training at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital.

During my residency, I realized my calling in medicine was to become a cardiologist. I began my fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, where I sub-specialized in clinical and Interventional cardiology. Since completing my training, I have remained at Mount Sinai Hospital as a solo practitioner in private practice.
